Our Clinical Approach to Care

COPE Family Health Clinic operates on the scientist-practitioner model, utilizing evidence-based practices from various theoretical perspectives. Psychological services incorporate a range of treatment modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs. Each case is carefully examined and developed through a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens, drawing on Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, and the interdisciplinary biopsychosocial model.

Our COPE Program helps children and teens develop coping skills to prevent and manage psychological mechanisms and patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression.

Based on Cognitive and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (CBT & DBT), the COPE Program teaches young people to identify negative thought patterns, adopt healthier habits, and employ practical strategies in response to emotional and behavioural challenges.

At COPE Family Health Clinic, we integrate these foundations into individual therapy, group sessions, and wellness programs, fostering emotional resilience through skill-based support. This equips children with the tools to manage their emotions, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
